This section is for ovals that are made sporadically, dubious ovals, non-400 metre or unofficial tracks, and ovals where information is not yet available.

Cornerbrook, Newfoundland: Pasadena Oval

An oval was supposed to exists for the 1999 Canada Winter Games, but unfortunately, temperatures were too warm for it to be usable.

St-Lazare, Quebec

An oval was made for the 2004/05 winter, and a successful event was held to promote the sport. The 2005/06 winter was too warm for any natural ice ovals around Montreal.

Sherbrooke, Quebec

Rumor has it that there is a 400m oval there!

Brampton, Ontario: Gage Park skating track

240 metre artificial ice oval, 5.5-metre wide. Resurfaced by Zamboni.

Season: November to March

The park is located on the southwest side of Main and Wellington Streets, across the road from Brampton City Hall.

Built (circa 1990) next to 100 year old hardwood trees and a picturesque gazebo. Visitors can park for free in the underground city hall parking lot to enjoy the park and downtown shops and restaurants. In addition to the gazebo and park benches scattered around the oval, there are heated change rooms to lace up your skates, and a snack bar, open Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Rink guards are on duty during these same times, and there is a special section just off the main oval for tots.

Deep River, Ontario (pop. 4200)

It's a fairly rare beast, very much dependent on the weather. It's on the bay (very shallow for several hundred meters into the river), just off the beachfront in downtown Deep River. The person responsible (he clears the snow away) is Mr. Al Rose, a senior citizen & avid speed skater (one of about two or three in town). Deep River is some 200km west-north-west of Ottawa, and is home to many of the people working at Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd's Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories.
