Skating the natural ice at Fort Saint James. Photo by Travis James
All ice speed skating ovals in Canada are natural ice ovals, except for Calgary, Fort St. John and Quebec City (Ste-Foy). Only Calgary and Fort St. John are covered. Ice in dates listed are approximate and can vary from year to year depending on weather (for natural ice), budgets and events. Ovals not made on a regular basis are in the Misc page.
The menu on the left is organized east to west by province, then alphabetically within the province.
Clicking on the thumbnail photos within this website will generally display a larger version.
Note that most clubs in Canada primarily skate short track, with perhaps only the Calgary clubs as the exception. But even there, many of the very young skaters start on the short track. Nevertheless, this is primarily a long track (and marathon) website!
